What we believe:
Our Values
What
we think is important
Lighthouse Vineyard is built on the foundation of
how we think about God (theology) in which we establish the ideas and
attitudes that we feel are important (values).
Values define the way a church feels,
the atmosphere or the ethos. Two churches may believe exactly the same
doctrine, but feel very different due to their differing value systems. Here is a list of
our values.
We value:
-
Being responsive.
We believe that Jesus is our Head and the Holy Spirit our Counselor
and so we seek to be responsive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in
every area of the church’s life and ministry. In our
responsiveness, we are committed to “extravagant giving” whether
people or resources in order to expand God’s Kingdom.
-
Being real.
We want every expression of ours - whether communication, music,
design, or
method - to be non-hyped, natural, and reality based.
-
Being relevant.
We want to use music, conversation, and outreach methods that are in
touch with the current culture of our community.
-
Being relational.
We want the individual to relate with the crowd. God is looking for
a people, a community who share a corporate value system. We follow Jesus in the context of relationships, not
in isolation.
-
Being righteous.
We seek completely truthful, consistent and open relationships with
God, with others, and with ourselves.
